Shepherd began his broadcast radio career in early 1945 on WJOB (AM) in Hammond, Indiana, later working at WTOD in Toledo, Ohio, in 1946 Shepherd then went onto WSAI in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1948. From 1951 to 1953 he had a late-night broadcast on KYW in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after which he returned to Cincinnati for a show on WLW. After a stint on television (see below), he returned to radio. "Shep," as he was known, settled in at WOR radio New York City, New York on an overnight slot in 1956, where he delighted his fans[3] by telling stories, reading poetry and organizing comedic listener stunts. He broadcast until he left WOR in 1977. His subsequent radio work consisted of only short segments on several other stations including crosstown WCBS. His final radio gig was the Sunday night radio show "Shepherd's Pie" on WBAI-FM in the mid-1990s, which consisted of his reading his stories uncut, uninterrupted and unabridged. The show was one of WBAI's most popular of the period.

Llama Nation is a documentary about Llamas highlighting llama breeding, llama showing, and the love people have for their llamas.

Llamas are very underestimated creatures. The general population has a very small understanding of what purposes the animal can serve or even their origin. The only association most people have with a llama is from a petting zoo at their local country fair, the llamas with hats YouTube video and Napoleon Dynamite.

Almost no one knows of the premier llama showing and breeding business, the benefits they bring to their community, clothing, and other stuff. Whenever someone mentions, for the first time, llama showing and breeding, people automatically become intrigued with the fact that it even exist.

Our job will be to bring this side of the creature, which no one knows about, to life.

Jean Shepherd began his Professional Radio Career in Cincinnati, Ohio in the late 1940's. So I traveled to Cincinnati in the Fall 2014 and interviewed a few of Jean Shepherd's Friends and Colleagues. This is a clip from retired Cincinnati Enquirer Arts Critic and Features Writer OWEN FINDSEN who knew Jean Shepherd and even went out on assignment in the late 1970's and interviewed Shep at WOR in New York before Shep left the airwaves.
